SiPearl: €130 million for European HPC processors designed in France

SiPearl, Europe's only company designing CPUs for high-performance computing (HPC), has recently received €32 million in funding and finalised the €130 million Series A round. Its flagship CPU, Rhea1, will be used in JUPITER, which is set to become Europe's first exascale supercomputer.

In an interview for Unzip Media recorded at the EIC Summit 2025, SiPearl's founder and CEO Philippe Notton talks about the company's founding story, the importance of its existence, and some of the future plans and roadmap details.

We've also discussed the utility of a "European Buy Act," as well as the probability of there being consumer-facing "European Big Tech."
